Consultancy service

The numbers behindevery people decision.

We design, build and deploy HR analytics for public sector employers — absence, cost, risk and workforce structure, built on the data you already hold and read in the time it takes to open a browser tab.

Live demonstration

See one working
before you buy one.

Most analytics proposals are a slide deck. Ours is a working dashboard you can click through right now: a fictional six-school academy trust, twelve months of absence, Bradford Factor bands, trigger flags, cost by site and a structure view that filters by school and staff type. Every number updates when you change the period.

It is built the way we build for clients — one secure page, no software to install, fast on a phone — and it is populated with illustrative data so nothing in it belongs to anyone.

What we build

Dashboards that answer
the question being asked.

Every one of these started as a question from a board, a Finance Director or a Head of HR that the existing reports could not answer quickly enough.

Absence intelligence

Rate, days lost and episodes by site, month, reason and staff type, against your target and the national picture. Seasonal patterns and the sites that drive them, visible at a glance.

Bradford Factor & triggers

Bradford bands, frequency and continuous-absence triggers computed from the raw records, with the action your policy prescribes at each level — so managers act consistently and HR is not the bottleneck.

Cost of absence

What absence is actually costing, by school, department or staff group, on your real salary data rather than a sector average. The figure that moves a budget conversation.

Workforce structure

Headcount, FTE, grade and contract mix across sites and functions. The baseline for any restructure, and the evidence base when a consultation asks why.

Casework & ER pipeline

Open cases by type, age and stage; suspensions and their duration; time to resolution. The view that turns an ER backlog into a managed list.

Board & committee packs

The same data rendered as a dated, printable pack for governors, trustees or a people committee — consistent every term, produced in minutes, not days.

Design, build, deploy

From spreadsheet to dashboard
in weeks, not quarters.

A practitioner leads every build, not a software team. The point is a tool your HR lead will actually use on a Monday morning.

STEP 01

Design

A short discovery with the people who will use it: what decisions it must support, who sees what, which systems hold the data. You get a one-page specification and a fixed price before anything is built.

STEP 02

Build

We connect to your HR, payroll and absence exports — SIMS, iTrent, ESR, Access, a spreadsheet — clean and model the data, and build the views to the specification. You review a working version, not a mock-up.

STEP 03

Deploy

Hosted securely with access controls that respect your data protection obligations, refreshed on the schedule you choose. Documented so your own team can own it, with support from us for as long as you want it.

Why it works

Analytics from people who have run the process.

Plenty of firms can build a dashboard. Fewer know that a Bradford score of 500 means a formal review under most public sector policies, that a long-term absence episode is counted from day 29, or that an absence rate in a school should be read against term dates rather than calendar months. That knowledge is what turns a chart into a decision.

Because the practitioner who designs your analytics is the same practitioner who advises on the cases they surface, the dashboard and the advice fit together. When a trigger fires, you know what to do next — and if you want us to do it, we are already across the detail.

Data protection, handled properly

Absence and casework data is special category personal data. We work as your processor under a written agreement, minimise what is collected, pseudonymise where the purpose allows, and document the lawful basis so your DPO has what they need. Role-based access means a headteacher sees their school, the trust sees everything, and nobody sees more than they should.

Common questions

Questions we are
asked about analytics.

If yours is not here, ask it on the call.

Usually an absence export, a staff list with role, site and salary, and — for casework views — a case log. Most HR systems produce these as standard reports. We will tell you exactly which fields on the first call, and we work with whatever format you can export, including spreadsheets.
